With more than 17 years of nursing experience with progressive leadership roles, Barbara Grotting, RN, MSN, CPHQ, CPPS, has been named Director of Risk Management and Patient Safety for Providence Medical Center and Saint John Hospital.
Her past clinical focus has been on patient safety, process improvement, CMS/accreditation, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, risk management and the development of effective teams.
Barbara comes to the Prime MOKAN region after serving as Director of Quality and previously Executive Director of Quality and Patient Safety at Mercy-LifePoint Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Springfield, Mo. Her other past roles include Director, Quality/Accreditation and Patient Safety, Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, IA, and as the Director of Quality and Process Improvement with Catholic Health Initiatives, Roseburg, Oregon.
She holds a Master of Science in Population Health and Leadership from Washington State University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Washington State University Vancouver, and her Registered Nurse Associate degree from the University of South Dakota.
Barbara is excited to join an organization with high quality standards. She says, “My goal is to evaluate processes, so errors are prevented before they occur.”
Barbara is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). She is studying to obtain her Certification in Healthcare Risk Management.
