Breast Center
Breast cancer affects one in eight women. It is the second most common cause of cancer-related death in women. Studies prove early detection is a vital component in the successful treatment of breast cancer.
The Providence Breast Center offers women a new technology for the early detection of breast cancer called full-field digital mammography. This new technology greatly enhances the ability to detect breast cancers at earlier stages and in less time than previous methods. High technology plus a team of experienced technicians help to make a pleasant experience for patients receiving a mammogram.

Digital mammography uses computers and specially designed digital detectors to provide electronic images of the breast. These high-resolution images are available on the technologist’s monitor in a matter of seconds, shortening time for your mammography visit.
It also reduces the need for retakes due to over or under exposure of film.
The Center has a state-of-the-art Stereotactic Breast Biopsy System. Quick, minimally-invasive biopsies help to enhance a patient’s overall experience.
