Intensive Care
One of the most rapidly growing areas of medicine is interventional radiology, which uses the latest imaging techniques to locate and treat medical problems with minimally invasive procedures.
Interventional radiologists
Providence Medical Center uses small catheters (tubes) or other devices, which they guide by X-ray, ultrasound, or computed axial tomography (CAT) imaging to the affected areas.
These procedures are usually less traumatic for patients than conventional surgery. They involve minimal pain, shorter (or no) hospital stays, allow faster recovery, and often cost less than invasive surgery.
