Pain Management
One in five suffer from chronic pain, according to a poll of more than 1,200 people conducted by Stanford University Medical Center, USA TODAY and ABC News.
A large percentage have yet to find relief. A study by the American Pain Society showed that 40 percent of people with moderate to severe pain describe it as “out of control.” Only 22 percent had gotten referrals to a specialized pain treatment program.
Pain can lead to depression, anxiety, sleep disorders and even suicide. Yet, there is much that can be done to alleviate pain, but it’s important to seek help early before pain becomes an ingrained response.
