About 19 percent of Americans, or almost one in five, suffer from chronic pain, according to a poll of more than 1,200 people conducted by Stanford University Medical Center, USA TODAY and ABC News.
A large percentage have yet to find relief. A study by the American Pain Society showed that 40 percent of people with moderate to severe pain describe it as “out of control.” Only 22 percent had gotten referrals to a specialized pain treatment program.Providence Pain Center team
