Sports Physicals

TeamWorks offers enhanced sports physicals for students in grades 8-12. Our team of sports medicine physicians, certified athletic trainers and orthopedic surgeons will assess current fitness and health, flag risk factors, and ensure student athletes are prepared for the physical demands of sports activities.

In addition, students will receive an EKG, and a Saint John / Providence cardiologist will be on hand to evaluate any cardiac concerns. This exceptional level of care cannot be found at any other youth sports physicals in the metro area.

Concussion Screenings

TeamWorks provides concussion screenings for high school athletes in our schools in Leavenworth and Wyandotte Counties.

Sports-related concussions have become an epidemic among school-age athletes. The effects of these head injuries can cause a range of serious health problems, including dementia and brain damage.

But awareness and early detection can help in preventing lasting damage and avoiding further injury. TeamWorks is dedicated to raising awareness about sports concussions and offers concussion screenings to attend to the needs of KC-area student athletes.

Our neurologists and orthopedists can diagnose, treat and manage head injuries in adolescents and teens. Drawing on their extensive experience and expertise, these Providence and Saint John physicians offer complete concussion management, and determine when it is safe to return to activity.

Don’t take a risk with a child’s health. If you suspect a concussion may have occurred, contact our Emergency Department at 913-680-6100 for immediate attention.
