Providence Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare , earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
This year, Providence Medical Center is one of the seven safest hospitals in the Kansas City area. For 12 years designations in a row, Providence has received the “A” Leapfrog designation Hospital Safety Grade, straight “A” since 2019.
“Receiving the Leapfrog A grade is a reflection of the incredible work our staff puts in every day to provide high-quality care for our patients,” said Karen Orr, RN, MSN, MBA, Chief Executive Officer, “I couldn’t be prouder of our team here at Providence and the well-earned recognition they’ve achieved.”
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Providence, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
