Providence Medical Center recognized as No. 1 in Kansas for Health Equity, Community Benefit, Inclusivity, and Racial Inclusivity
Kansas City, Kansas (June 23, 2026) — Providence Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest physician-led health systems, has earned an overall “A” grade in Social Responsibility on the 2026 Lown Hospitals Index, placing it among the nation’s top hospitals for its commitment to health equity, value, and patient outcomes.
The hospital also ranked No. 1 in Kansas for Health Equity, Community Benefit, Inclusivity, and Racial Inclusivity, and Top 5 in Kansas for Social Responsibility. In addition, Providence Medical Center earned “A” grades in Social Responsibility, Health Equity, Community Benefit, Inclusivity, and Racial Inclusivity, reflecting its commitment to delivering equitable, compassionate, and community-centered care.
The Lown Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility is the only national ranking that evaluates hospitals on measures of social responsibility, including health equity, value of care, and patient outcomes. The Index examines how equitably care is delivered, how well hospitals invest in their communities, and whether patients receive high-value care that avoids unnecessary procedures, in addition to traditional measures such as clinical outcomes and patient safety. More than 50 metrics contribute to a hospital’s overall score.
