Brave, dedicated, willing, reliable, and compassionate. These words describe Emergency Service providers. They demonstrate these qualities every day by coming to the aid of others when they are most in need. However, each year, due to circumstance and extraordinary effort, certain individuals amongst us shine.
On January 27, 2021, Captain Tim Mahoney demonstrated three of Providence Medical Center’s values.
Quality: Showing a committed to always providing exceptional care and performance.
Compassion: Delivering patient-centered healthcare with compassion, dignity and respect for every patient and their family.
Community: Being a trusted partner who serves, give back and grow with our communities.
While delivering care for a patient who had fallen, it was noted that the residence had no heat; the utilities had been turned off. While EMS #2 transported the patient to Providence Medical Center, Capt. Mahoney took it upon himself to pick up an extra coat he had and deliver it to the patient in the Providence emergency department.
Jerry M Boswell Jr, MICT, Emergency Medical Services Liaison, said, “We commend Capt. Mahoney for leading by example.”
On behalf of Providence Medical Center’s “You Made A Difference” program, Jerry was honored to present Capt. Mahoney with Providence’s certificate of recognition and a challenge coin, which states “Your Commitment to Service Makes a Difference”.
