Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine is a painless and cost-effective tool to provide information about your medical condition that might otherwise require surgery or more invasive diagnostic testing.

Nuclear medicine webWith radiosensitive cameras, it documents organ function and structure and is used in the diagnosis, management, treatment and prevention of disease.

The Nuclear Medicine division of the Radiology department at Providence Medical Center can detect many forms of cancer, monitor the spread of cancer and identify other disorders, such as stress fractures, blood clots in the lungs, gall bladder and heart disease.

We offer a wide range of diagnostic services with some therapeutic applications to inpatients, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can handle emergency outpatient services when needed.

These tests help detect disease by identifying abnormalities, often at its early stages of progression, before some medical problems become apparent and when they are easiest to treat.

We use the Forte™ open gantry-imaging system. It can scan patients on gurneys, hospital beds and wheelchairs.
